WEYLCHEM US ANNOUNCES EXPANSION TO ELGIN FACILITY
$4 million investment to construct a state-of-the-art chemical lab
Kershaw County, SC – WeylChem US, a custom manufacturer and toller for the specialty and fine chemicals market, has announced plans to invest $4 million in the construction of a new 10,000 square foot lab at the company’s Elgin facility. The lab will house the company’s process development and quality control laboratories and is expected to be completed in early 2023.
“It is a great day in Kershaw County as we celebrate yet another expansion at WeylChem US,” stated Kershaw County Chairman Julian Burns. “Their continued support of their community through jobs and investment since 1967 has made strides for Kershaw County and its people. Today, we congratulate them on this announcement and look forward to working with them as they continue to grow.”
Understanding the importance of continually investing in its assets to better serve its global network, WeylChem US’s construction of a new laboratory will allow the company to better serve its customers and ensure employees have the best work environment possible.

A custom manufacturer and toller for the specialty and fine chemicals market, WeylChem US works with customers to produce chemicals that supply a variety of end markets including agrochemicals, polymers and ligands, lubricants, personal care, pharmaceuticals, biocides, aerospace applications, and more. WeylChem US opened its doors in 1967 as Hardwicke Chemicals, and after multiple acquisitions, became a part of the WeylChem Group of Companies, headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, in 2007. The WeylChem Group of Companies is owned by International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG) which is a privately owned industrial group with a large portfolio of different chemical platforms.
