Historically Black college in SC among nation’s best, new US News & World Report ranking shows
South Carolina has one of the 10 best historically Black colleges in America, according to U.S. News & World Report.
Claflin University in Orangeburg earned the ninth ranking out of 77 schools considered in the latest annual list. This is the 12th consecutive year Claflin has been ranked on the U.S. News top 10 historically Black colleges list. “We are tremendously pleased with our rise in the U.S. News and World Report’s national ranking of the Top 10 Historically Black Colleges and Universities,” Claflin President Dr. Dwaun J. Warmack said in a Monday press release.
“We are also extremely elated that this prestigious publication has consistently acknowledged our numerous accomplishments and achievements. Our success is a testament to the collective contributions of University administrators, faculty and staff, students, leal and loyal alumni, and other supporters.”
